Herring are running on Pembroke Media
In celebration of his home town's heritage, budding filmmaker John Henry O'Keefe has produced a video of the local Herring Run in Pembroke. ThetTown was settled along this tributary which boasted an abundant supply of fish.
"He does good work, that kid," his uncle, Kevin O'Keefe, said after watching his nephew's video. "He did pay attention to me."
Kevin was one of the original residents who 28 years ago built the Town's television studio which selectmen eliminated June 2012.
Mom Kim said "The video is great. I love it. It was very relaxing and peaceful just like the Herring Run. A beautiful spot to enjoy nature."
Recording was done the afternoon of April 26.
John Henry said that "the day I filmed the Herring Run videos was nice and I was really looking forward to recording another video. I was thinking in my head what types of things I should record, and if the herring were out. Over all it was an enthralling experience to record all the plants and flowers. I also had a blast editing. We got all this material and putting it all together was fun and it was a great experience. Dr. Jones helped me a lot and showed me about positioning the camera, leveling and balancing, and all of that was a great help. And she taught me some editing tricks too."
