MIDDLEBORO — Middleboro's herring run in is one of the most impressive natural resources in New England. On April 11-13 join local residents, businesses and artisans in a celebration of this natural resource. The first annual Herring Festival will feature a wide variety of activities including live music, a Civil War encampment and a variety of conservation demonstrations.
Friends of the Herring Run is a group of individuals dedicated to encouraging tourism and commerce in the town education and awareness of the Middleboro-Lakeville Herring Run. This group is supported in part by a grant from the Massachusetts and Middleboro Cultural Councils (www.massculturalcouncil.org) and is partnering with Middleborough on the Move (www.middleboroughonthemove.org/), a nonprofit organization.
